"Spending time in nature is incredibly important to me & helps me turn off my internal fret system. Every walk with flowers, insects & birdsong reminds me why I work in Ecology @UK_CEH & why I'm so proud to be a part of @BSBIbotany"
Jodey Peyton for #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek
"The peace I feel when surrounded by the vibrant colours & sounds of nature always help to clear my mind. Finding the tiniest plant on a city street can make me smile: that something so small can survive in the most surprising place!" @ellengoddard5 for #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek
"I’ve always been happiest in green spaces. The best part IMO is that it's accessible in so many forms: from single plants to big adventures, so you can access the dose you need to deal with whatever else life is throwing your way". @SarahElizWoods for #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek
“Spending time outdoors in nature is a place for me to escape. I can distract myself with wildlife: listening to bird songs, looking at plants on a walk with friends, or going for a run in the local woodland.” @Ciara_M_Dwyer of #BSBICommsTeam for #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek
"For me, being surrounded by nature is a restorative, calming experience: paying attention to a daisy in the pavement or the song of a blackbird slows me down, keeps me in the moment & acts as a reminder of what's important in life" @LeifBersweden for #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek

Last week I was in Yorkshire for work (more on this another day) and went to find purple saxifrage (Saxifraga oppositifolia). The flowers are the most incredible colour: splashes of improbably bright pink against the pale limestone. 10/10 would see again 👌
