@elonmusk Not correct at all. Being elite is about having your choice of sexual partner(s). If we all have eveything then the elites will lose their advantage. They will not allow that. Being good looking/intelligent/charismatic is not elite. Elite is not even needing to be those things.
@michaelbuck1990@SuperHoops1901 100%. It’s crazy that we blame the GAA for Irish soccer short comings. GAA supporters push the GAA to the front at the expense of Irish soccer because they love GAA. Irish soccer fans push English soccer to the front at the expense of Irish soccer because they love soccer.
@NoelRock I actually think the 2-2 draw with Israel in 2005 is our most damaging result. I believe would’ve have qualified had we won that game. Following that we threw away 2 years of a v good team on Staunton and the over all trend has been downward exacerbated by our poor fifa ranking.
@loughers2@HamillAF Purely from a sporting perspective it is the right thing to do. Unite the leagues as well. Both nationals teams are young and improving but their ceilings are low. I don’t think either national team will ever qualify for a
World Cup again unless it expands to 64 teams.
@Farrell86O@antUachtaran@itsjohncrotty The original point still stands. If Greek city states constitute “the nation of Greece” 2798 years ago then “the nation of Ireland” is much older than 851 years. Held to the same standard of proof Ireland is at least 1400 years old and evidence supports it being much older.
@bog_gary@irvine1798 This will help you understand. The Mercator projection is misleading you I feel. Ancient Population movement by sea rather than by a much slower land bridge would support the Celts from the west theory. Genetics tell us the populations are linked by does not infer an “off shoot”
@bog_gary@irvine1798 The native British population and the Irish are linked. I just said that above. Arguing one population is an offshoot is silly. Population movement by sea in ancient times would support the early medieval manuscripts that say that original Britons came from the west via Ireland.
@bog_gary@irvine1798 I think you are confused a little. Genetics and the historical record show that the English are a German immigrants/offshoot but do not indicate if native British are an offshoot of the Irish or vice versa. Genetics indicate that they are related populations of Insular Celts.
@anon_opin Britain knows this. So does France. They can compete on NGO white papers with USA, China and Russia but not the rest. They are not being idiots they are being realistic.
@HectorGentleman@Jor__Bohs It’s massively popular in those areas though. And outside those areas people still go to the pub to watch it as Jor said above. I think we should give hurling its due credit.
@adamabyss@Paulmcgrath5@grok They all started against Northern Ireland the day Alan Mcloughlin scored the equaliser and a 1-1 draw took Ireland to the 94 World Cup.
@bbculp It doesn’t matter. Equality means when they compete against each other they should compete over the same distance. You are referring to women only competitions. Much more important things to worry about.
