@liberationlit Books have not been banned. People in MO state prisons can access 220,000+ books in prison libraries & 10,000+ books on their tablets AND can order/purchase books & other publications. The only change is to the ordering process.

The substance abuse in Missouri Prisons is the outcome of unaddressed mental health conditions. For the system, addressing mental health is not profitable. But selling drugs in prisons is profitable for those within the ranks of the Dept. who control the distribution.
