@iacocoba I think it's important to note that we don't actually know why different groups of people participate at different rates. Also, conflating political ideology with things like authoritarianism is dangerous – depending on the time & place the right or left may be more authoritarian

@iacocoba @RTeater503 @eganuza Oregon is the only state where the CIR is in state law. A couple other states have proposed CIR laws – @RTeater503, do you remember if the Mass./Wash. bills include a requirement to include political party as one of the factors?

@RTeater503 @iacocoba @eganuza Hah! @RTeater503 and I are answering different questions. The CIRs themselves are not mandated by law to happen whenever an initiative/referendum occurs. But when they do happen (under the official state system), there is an ideologic selection factor required (political party).

@BandLab Love the idea of your platform, but question: Seems from your Terms of Use that uploading a song to BandLab may give you (the company) wide-ranging rights to use & sell it, even if I set the song as 'Private'. Am I wrong? ToU & linked docs are unclear. CC: @EFF @BenMaras
