This tracks. I often tell my husband, “We’re in this together, on the same team,” and my personal frame around that statement is a nonstop battlefield. War with the world, flesh, and devil, and we’re fighting together.
this is a skill issue, it’s really not that hard, you really just have to listen to women and cultivate empathy. the way women feel about men is closer to the way you feel about whether you’d go into battle with a man than the way you feel about women
A big part of actualizing as a woman is coming to terms with your physical characteristics and your natural style and not wishing you could look like someone else.
Deep into this manuscript, starting to feel like we have something valuable to put out there. Will likely despair again tomorrow, but let’s enjoy it for now.
@OldHollowTree Haralred should be in the mix; I was so excited to see it on your list. They are quite cold-hardy and their cooking flavor is so, so special—complex, w/spice notes. It’s a pretty tart apple… almost too tart for eating, but will really elevate the flavor of sauces and baking.
@timesnewemma I also absolutely *hated* doing it, because I do NOT have an outgoing personality, but I was convinced that God wanted me to do it, so I’m glad I didn’t ignore it. Maybe it planted a little gospel seed.
@timesnewemma One summer in college, I felt compelled to develop a “kids club” at one of the local playgrounds. I would approach all the kids and play a game and then quickly tell them a Bible story with a gospel ending. As a parent now, I see that maybe read as incredibly creepy!
