@RankupCo Striking number. Did the study look at what the picked businesses had in common, like which pages ChatGPT cited for them? That part would help owners more than the rank gap itself.
@sgtkickarse Good test. Worth a second one too: ask about your business by name and check the facts it gives (hours, services, prices). Old pages tend to win when nothing newer says otherwise.
@SelamShivam Useful to see it laid out. The agent leaned on the pages you control (site, GitHub, LinkedIn) and filled the gaps with whatever old pages it found. One current, dated page about what you're building now gives it something better than the 2019 stuff.
@mattaskumar Agree on keeping them apart. One more split helps: which page got cited. A mention that cites your own site is something you can track and improve; one that cites a third party summary mostly isn't.
AI assistants cited companies' own newsroom pages 347 times, and wire copies about the same companies 57 times (Proofsource, 18,858 AI answers, Oct 2026). About six to one.
Our branded newsroom puts your releases on your own domain, from $29 a month.

@samfiguresout Fair point, more pages alone won't fix it. Consistent context is the harder part: the same facts, said the same way, on the third-party pages AI already reads. Did one type of source carry most of the recommendations?
@launch_llama Good list. One more that keeps working after launch day: a dated news page on your own site for each launch or update. Google and ChatGPT need something on your side to point to.
@thonyydev Preview before moving, plus undo, is the right call for anything that touches files. Congrats on 0.1.0. A short dated note for each version lets people see what changed.
