Delighted to contribute to this story now in @Nature led by T. Gerhardt & @cam_phd -
In humans & 🐭, exercise and 🛌 showed mutation-specific effects on clonal hematopoiesis, selectively reprogramming mutant cells toward less inflammatory states.

Our new case report in Blood Cell Therapy: mononeuritis multiplex after cilta-cel, with CAR+ T-cells found directly in nerve tissue. We did not detect BCMA expression in the nerve tissue. Recovery required MNM-style immunosuppression.

SCI member @SurbhiSidanaMD & others found that high #BCMA expression at baseline predicts better outcomes with BCMA CAR-T therapy in #MultipleMyeloma. However, BCMA expression often decreases at relapse, which may impact future treatment strategies. https://t.co/cPVpCURVQb
#Myeloma Paper of the Day: Mezigdomide reverses T-cell exhaustion through degradation of IKZF1/IKZF3 and reinvigoration of cytokine production pathways, and enhanced target cell killing with alnuctamab, a B-cell maturation antigen targeting TCE: https://t.co/UDQ8T1N1d2. #mmsm
So so grateful to have this piece out in @NYTmag this morning!
Profound gratitude to the whole editorial team and to Jerome Berthier for the BEAUTIFUL graphics.

I am so proud of the brilliant @AvrahamCooperMD on his first features in the New York Times!
It's basically a New York Times #MedTwitter Tweetorial from ~2019 -- and I mean that as the highest of compliments!

"You give them the treatment… they go from a wheelchair, to a cane, to being able to walk." On The Future of Medicine with #StanDOM's @euanashley, Crystal Mackall shares how #CARTCell therapy is changing outcomes for children with cancer. https://t.co/I1xaBGEpam
📢 New in @CellCellPress!
Researchers led by Dr. James Kochenderfer at the @NIH have shown that stem cell memory-derived #CARTCells have enhanced expansion, persistence, and therapeutic efficacy compared to standard CAR T cells.

The senior author of today’s @ScienceMagazine paper — @AdamRodmanMD — co-wrote a piece with me on why AI’s trajectory in diagnosis demands medicine prepare now. The headlines are outpacing the science- but barely. Here’s what’s actually at stake. 🧵
Our answer to Ledley and Lusted 67 years later came out today in Science (https://t.co/CiDOBrYDGt) AND our Co-Clinician work came out (https://t.co/iinLLxx6M8)!
AND I'm on service and VERY tired!!
Will have threads either tomorrow or this weekend -- coming soon!
We have to revise how CART cell therapy is approved. Regulating it as a drug impedes progress. There are amazing innovations in CART cell therapy being developed that enhance efficacy, reduces delays, and greatly lowers cost. With a revised regulatory approach, patients can benefit greatly.
I wrote a white paper on this and we were discussing this with leaders at the FDA, before the leadership changed. Some elements of the proposal are based on this article we wrote in 2019. @statnews
Other countries are already taking the lead.

Important work by @YiLinMDPhD and multidisciplinary team highlighting risk factors with IEC-EC. The IEC-EC Working Group (US MM Immunotherapy Consortium) is continuing the work to define diagnosis and treatment.
