I’ve been building a side project for the past year! 👻
During my evenings and weekends, I’ve been working on FormPhantom, a simple, developer-friendly form-to-email backend service.
FormPhantom is a privacy-first, European alternative created to offer fast performance, a clean modern UI, and zero backend boilerplate for developers.
What makes FormPhantom different?
🇪🇺 100% European: Designed in Italy and hosted entirely within EU data centers using European service providers, keeping all data strictly within the EU by design.
⚡ Developer First: Clean, plug-and-play form endpoints without dealing with backend boilerplate or complex SMTP configuration.
🛠️ Tech Stack: Java, Spring Boot & Angular.
While there’s still work to do before launch, it’s getting closer every day. Excited to start sharing more of the build process in public!

Do you still care what programming language your project is built with, or do you only care about the underlying tech stack?
What's your current go-to?

Feel the same. You feel like you're not being performant, at least not 100%. Still, I would do most of the things by hand, I mainly use AI as an assistant, generate boilerplate, setups or things that are repetitive. I try to do the deep thinking, this is what found to work best for me.
@orskyai Spot on. Vercel helps you get started. It's easy to use but it can get expensive as you hit the limits. Hetzner is preferable if you know what you're doing in a Linux environment. If configured properly it can be pretty good.
