@_CryMiaRiver@justbrowsi7116 I spent a couple summers in Taiwan, mostly in Tainan. I LOVE Taiwan, the people are wonderful. Years later, in the early 90s, I went to mainland China. I tell people it was like having had an idyllic school year in W. German (Taiwan) then being dumped into the communist East.
@David_Freedman@HJoyceGender So we should experiment on (read: torture) non-human mammals to prove (disprove) the delusions of a social contagion scenario that’s been promoted by a cynical medical industry? Animals deserve better than that.
Hey @UPS , your employee Sean (sp?) at the Purcellville VA store is a rockstar. I went in with a big awkward thing that needed shipping, thinking I'd have to pack it all up myself for an hour or so, and instead Sean said not to worry, he'll take care of it. Made my weekend.
@AirMailWeekly@louisgcheslaw The knee-jerk reaction of criticizing the reaction to a horrific attack by a terrorist Hamas, while making no comment on the Israeli victims, was disgusting. No sympathy for him or his fellow staffers now whining about not having a job.
So I got a reply on my Global Entry renewal, saying I had conditional approval and to schedule an appointment, either in person or remote. So I go onto @CBP website and find that there are NO appointments available through 2030 (I stopped scrolling by then). WFT??
@einstein_evans Congratulations! I did my masters in DC (G'Town) and live there now. You can find all sorts of communities here besides govt - diplomatic, student, aid groups, think tanks, etc. Get ready for sticker shock on rental housing, and hot humid weather in summer. Good luck!
@HadleyFreeman Excellent article, which someone just sent me. (You may like this monologue by Bill Maher from two nights ago, which *tangentially* gets to a similar point re the inmates/kindergartners running the asylum these days: https://t.co/l8Xtc89NMf )
