@rosieICM We are all issued phones by the trust - so we get work emails/messages on them. There is also an app for Locum shifts and they usually get filled pretty quickly from that.

In our scheme for 1/4 trainees at any one time its 42-47 miles each way in the work day, and for regional teaching often 65-68 miles each way. There are financial, well-being and climate considerations.

@jabberwock951 @Not4Twos @TheBMA Do they not have to go on courses? My dad works as a trade union studies lecturer - basically educating trade union reps (not BMA ) about different aspects of employment law and industrial relations. Lots of the reps do several week long courses a year.

@PiksTube @Sectioned_ I wouldn’t expect a GP to decide and start medication for severe mental illness any more than I would expect a GP to decide and start chemotherapy- both need specialist input.
What I would expect is for a CMHT to accept the referral and offer medication advice to the GP.

@HanaStev @DrGolfShirt Teenage girls who identify as lesbian have a higher pregnancy rate than teenage girls who identify as straight( in the uk). Asking if you could be pregnant isn’t assuming sexuality.
