I transformed the Plush interpreter from a stack-based design to a register-based architecture, and the performance boost was more than I expected!

@Andrew51786 I described the issues I was having, wanting the animation to loop, fixing arms intersecting with the body, and it built Python scripts to parse, analyze the animations and fix the issues. Took some iteration but it works quite well.

Having Claude Code perform surgery on GLB model files to fix wonky skeletal animations, and transplant them between different 3D models.

[Maxime Chevalier @Love2Code]

@ericjang11 The sort of thing where everybody just assumed the implementation was correct. Illustrates how very few people question or examine the foundations.

[Maxime Chevalier @Love2Code]

@TheRealShiibii No obvious bugs as far as I can tell.

[Maxime Chevalier @Love2Code]

Claude Code ported my GLB mesh loader and skeletal animation code from Plush to Rust in all of 5 minutes... That was... faster than I expected.

@DominiqueCAPaul I'm using it to build a 3D engine and the way it's intermingling application logic and game logic in one big main module is really terrible imo. There is no planning ahead, even though I put together a design.md explaining where I intend for this design to go.

I've been reviewing a lot of code written by Opus 5.5, and it still seems to make a lot of bad software engineering decisions. The kind that will accumulate/calcify into unmaintainable software over time. IMO even the agents will struggle to maintain vibecoded software.

[Maxime Chevalier @Love2Code]

@gkozlowaski Also not sure businesses are gaining much by taking said risky bet. I'm seeing a lot of likely vibe coded bugs, not a lot of actual software improvement.

[Maxime Chevalier @Love2Code]

@brinkzapp I was programming before you were born, kid.

[Maxime Chevalier @Love2Code]

@valigo Like some invite to try their game? They're probably hoping you'll tweet about it

@teropa

[Maxime Chevalier @Love2Code]

@th1agofm Sort of. I've had CC implement web software and found later that it had decided to not gate certain endpoints based on user login. It just decided that data ought to be public I guess, and never told me. You can easily fix the code, but leaked data can be more problematic.

[Maxime Chevalier @Love2Code]

@Luiz0x29A @siematos lol.

[Maxime Chevalier @Love2Code]

@preshing I found that the code quality coming out of GPT 6.0 sol was so awful it was just... Objectionable... Then they released 6.1 a week after, like they knew something wasn't right. They immediately yanked that model 😆

[Maxime Chevalier @Love2Code]

@CustomWetware @shlokbuilds That's what I would expect to happen. Imagine having five humans with almost no coding experience maintaining a massive codebase using only AI agents.

[Maxime Chevalier @Love2Code]

@th1agofm What did you build at 100M LOC?

[Maxime Chevalier @Love2Code]

@davidmanheim @ZackMaril I agree for toy apps and throwaway scripts it's great for sure.

[Maxime Chevalier @Love2Code]

@dtcb Try that with an operating system

[Maxime Chevalier @Love2Code]

@siematos Rewriting a single function is one thing, rewriting an entire large piece of software with nontrivial integration is much harder. Also, even at 10,000 tokens per second, you're still outputting what, 40 kilobytes of code per second? That's assuming *zero* reasoning tokens.

[Maxime Chevalier @Love2Code]

@siematos IMO that's the wrong take. Code is *cheaper* (still not free), but good design takes time to happen. You need several iterations, lots of testing, bugfixes. If you try to just entirely rewrite a large/mature piece of software, you are basically guaranteed to introduce issues.

[Maxime Chevalier @Love2Code]

@ZackMaril Some of it is small things like variable/method names that are not descriptive or appropriate at all. Some of it is poor factoring of logic, with a lot of stuff happening directly in main, and other things kind of spread into multiple files.
