@CF3_Weather If you change your mind and set up in Blackwell or along I-35, highways 11 and 60 in Oklahoma and highways 166 and 160 in Kansas are your only reliable blacktop east/west options. 60 has quite a bit of construction heading east out of Tonkawa. Just a heads up.
Stay safe!
@_natemorris We were in a hotel in Jenks, sheltering in the bathroom, and the whole building shook while rain poured in around the windows. It was coming in through the seals and the AC units. Our room and a lot of others flooded. Thankfully, we didn't lose power or water.
Holiday Inn Express on Aquarium Dr in Jenks is missing a big chunk of siding off the north side. One room on the 3rd floor had their AC unit blown into the room. @nwstulsa#okwx
@weathertrackus Th Holiday Inn Express in Jenks near the Aquarium is missing some stucco siding that's laying in the parking lot, and pretty much every window on the west side of the building is leaking profusely.
@emilyrsutton@kfor Just east of downtown Ponca City as this moved through. A little larger than a golfball. I was a #weatherfool and went after it while it was still hailing... #worthit#okwx
@FrankMikeDavis1 "What are you doing out here, Curt? Stealing hubcaps?" This was one of my dad's favorite movies and is frequently quoted at family gatherings.
@twstdbro We use T-mobile (via Mint) and the coverage in rural s. Kansas/n. Oklahoma is rough. Wish companies would allow the use of any available tower, no matter carrier, during severe weather. Tracphone used to operate this way, if I remember right, but now Verizon owns them. π
@DanielShawAU Forget astronomical and meteorological spring... everyone knows spring doesn't actually start until Daniel Shaw gets here. I wish you all a safe chase season.
@HeathChases@WxZachary Went to college in Rice County Kansas, and they blew the sirens 4 times a day M-F unless we were under severe weather threat. Only heard them blow once in earnest, the summer Greensburg got leveled. My current town tests them once a week, Thurs at noon.
@stormfrontfreak@CycloneJones1@chaser_summit@MidlandUSA My uncle is in the OKC area and teaches safety classes all over the metro... I can see if he would know anyone who might be willing to teach for free, or who you might contact to sponsor classes within the summit.
@ChadLindberg Lost my dad in January after a long battle with Parkinson's... we aren't guaranteed tomorrow, and even though it's hard, know that your words help lift us up and remind us to keep pushing through. Thanks for taking us on your grief journey and letting us know we're not alone. β€
@scullynationpod This is literally the episode I've been waiting for since I stumbled across the pod back at Christmas. I occasionally quote Scully's rant about the lite cream cheese when I'm pretending to be mad at my husband. π
