On Thursday, Zone 3 Sergeant Andrew Robinson, Public Safety Director Sheldon Williams, and Councilmember Bob Charland handed out 180 free steering wheel locks at Venson Park in Beltzhoover in an effort to reduce vehicle thefts.

The event was organized in conjunction with the Hilltop Alliance, thanks to a generous donation by Erie Insurance.

In addition to receiving a free lock, community members learned some additional tips from police on how to further protect their vehicles from would-be thieves.

@BitchRebellious @STATter911 I listened to the audio. A man, presumably a member of the engine 7 crew, says "CPR in progress" and a woman replies confirming this and then says "2033". Typically this would mean that it's 8:33 PM when she receives this message. So I think there is an error in the transcript.

Some days are harder than others.

Some days, just getting up and moving forward feels like climbing a mountain. That's okay. It will pass, or the answers will come in time.

Some days, it's hard to believe things will be okay. That's okay too. Be gentle with yourself. Rest if you can.

Sometimes taking time off feels impossible. That's okay too. Take a mini mind vacation instead.

Step outside. Sit in the sunshine. Feel the breeze. Watch a butterfly drift by. Listen to the birds chattering. Notice the sunlight dancing across a single leaf.

And if your mind is so busy that even that feels impossible...That's okay too.

Just breathe for one moment longer than you did yesterday. Drink a glass of water. Pet your dog. Look out the window. Start small.

Healing, hope, and strength aren't always found in big breakthroughs. Sometimes they're found in tiny moments of quiet that remind us we're still here.

Whatever today looks like, give yourself the same kindness you so freely give to others.

Tomorrow is a new day. 💛
