Where AI meets EEG biomarkers

Here we used AI/Deep-Learning trained to identify 'spindling excessive beta' activity, and could demonstrate this hypoarousal EEG signature is caused by sleep maintenance problems and is specifically linked to impulse control problems independent of DSM5 diagnosis. In addition, this signature was associated with ADHD diagnostic status in a sex-specific manner and predicted response to Sertraline in depression specifically.
Another great tour-de-force by Hannah Meijs MD/PHD, congrats!
The 2024 #MDSCongress recorded scientific sessions are now available on demand on the @movedisorder website : a not-to-be-missed opportunity to catch up on lectures and topics !
Stress is a known factor in accelerating Parkinson's. Neurofeedback provides a science-backed method to help manage it - we can support better health and quality of life for PWP.

Can we stimulate brain networks identified using deep brain stimulation from the outside, in a non-invasive fashion?
At @Brain_Circuits, we believe, we can!
Our first randomized clinical trial demonstrating this concept is just out in @MDJ_Journal: https://t.co/zuutgK4Evo

@MichaelOkun@MDJ_Journal Thank you for sharing! Coincidentally, this article on the effects of anger on blood flow was just published: https://t.co/yLI3BoI1z1. It has opened my dialogue with patients about addressing and managing stressors with HRV biofeedback.
@irosso@irosso your recent study offers invaluable insights. Have you seen @LaniusRuth work on Neurofeedback protocols for PTSD? It seems like a promising avenue of collaboration! https://t.co/VPqoxFViq1

Introducing the Action-Mode Network – AMN. Better late than never! 17 years ago, we clumsily called this the Cingulo-opercular Network (CON) based on its anatomy (we weren’t exactly sure what it does). Now we’ve finally got the evidence to give it the functional name it deserves: the Action-mode Network (AMN). Find our arguments here: https://t.co/z8290fmmVB with the peerless Marc Raichle and the brilliant @gordonneuro. 🧵 ↓
