Can we stimulate brain networks identified using deep brain stimulation from the outside, in a non-invasive fashion?
At @Brain_Circuits, we believe, we can!
Our first randomized clinical trial demonstrating this concept is just out in @MDJ_Journal: https://t.co/zuutgK4Evo

Excited to be recognized with the @brainstimj@ElsevierConnect Early Career Award 2025! Big thanks go out to the fantastic individuals in my lab without whom none would be possible!
See you in Kobe – who else is coming?

Once defined, we can now use this #pattern to estimate #DBSoutcomes in #unseen patients. Would the model be able to identify the optimal DBS contacts?🥁🥁🥁 Indeed: in all of the five cases tested, the model selected the optimal DBS contact correctly!🥳
Using this #dryEEG setup, we recorded DBS-#evokedpotentials in 58 hemispheres in people with #Parkinson’s disease and computed a model which represents the optimal DBS-evoked #responsepattern associated with maximal DBS improvements
🚨🥁Preprint alert: #DBS Programming is currently a tedious trial and error process that involves testing many settings – each time asking the patient to perform motor tasks to see how things improve. Could we use DBS-#evokedpotentials to guide programming?https://t.co/8lAeOMzCaZ

Mass General and @harvardmed Investigator Gary Ruvkun, PhD, has won the 2024 @NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine. He is honored for his discovery of small regulatory RNAs. Congratulations! Learn more: https://t.co/vpErhP8BA4
Super proud of @bahnebahners for representing the lab & @Brain_Circuits at @movedisorder and for this fantastic award that led to a talk in front of 4000 dear colleagues & to being featured in the MDS podcast recently!
Very well done Bahne and very well deserved!!
👏👏🎉🎉🥳🎊
Merging connectomics, network models and physiology? Yes please! Bahne Bahners drops the ‘mic’ in his junior award winning talk #mdscongress on how DBS works; how we can use this information to optimize DBS programming. @leaddbs @andreashorn_ @foxmdphd
Congratulations for graduating your PhD with summa cum laude, Dr. @Bassam_Al_Fatly – very well deserved and it has been a real honor and pleasure to co-mentor you!
Bassam’s works including three first-authorships in @Brain1878 and many new innovations:
