Everything out of Israel is blasphemy and desecration. Our own government is a world-historic disgrace, filled with loathsome criminals. #FreePalestine 🇵🇸
@Mike_from_PA I can see how Pelosi’s endorsement would draw suspicion from national progressives, but you can turn to the many competent independent journalists in the Bay Area and ask for clarification.
@TrueSlazac@Mike_from_PA You said he was a terrible candidate. Now you’re saying he’s underpriced. It seems like you won’t wager because you’re not confident in your ability to undermine his campaign.
True. BLM made my racist relative cry. She was afraid. It reminds me of a person who said they were glad their relatives came after the Civil War. I thought of my orphaned ancestors.
Hasan blathers about class consciousness but then when in comes to game time explicitly supports the Tech oligarch against SF’s multiracial working class.
You got this absolutely wrong, homie.
@hyphy_republic Here’s my working theory: In their newfound national prominence, they’ve been hanging out with the “movers and shakers” who “have motion” and confused themselves with the movement itself. They forgot that we were all supposed to join organizations and get out in the community.
@michaeloburns Thanks for the pedantry. I think celebrity socialists have their own need for introspection. SF socialists demonstrated their strategic power by fighting off a big footing from nationally prominent socialists. Too much “little weird guy” shit emitting from your direction.
@hasanthehun@micah_erfan I appreciate that you are pivoting here. The second half of your argument is strong. He’s not a soft Zionist. He’s a Ritchie Torres Zionist.
Yes, IDpol punches left. That’s its whole function. It has the credibility and bonafides to do that more efficiently than any other left-punching approach.
NOW i’m beginning to understand why kamala could ever possibly think she has a shot at being the 2028 dem nominee—blue state democrats are literally cattle for the most insincere, aimed-at-punching-left, identity politics
@Ericrse37986@demsocsean He has a bad relationship with the local SF left because he helped knock out Dean Preston, but the SF establishment was always too right-wing to ever return the favor. His complete lack of local support meant he had to rely on national progressives to save him and they didn’t.
Saikat ran a terrible campaign. He opposed four progressives and positioned himself as a yimby, which is a right-wing ideology here. The constituency for "Scott Wiener but possibly pro-Palestine" is tiny
Tbh if @saikatc would have just apologized for supporting bilal he probably harnesses the progressive energy of the city and advances to the general. Instead he tried to gaslight the only demo that could have made his campaign successful
