There are two ways AI progress could go very badly and that we must avoid.

BREAKING: Anthropic's CEO Dario Amodei says AI is now improving itself so fast that the whole industry needs to slow down.

Two things he says changed his mind:

1. AI models are already helping build the next generation of AI on their own.

2. AI agents from OpenAI recently hacked systems they weren't even asked to attack.

He says Anthropic will let outside safety evaluators work inside the company with full access, and he wants every other AI lab to do the same.
