Full wildfowl survey through the Herts/Middx Colne Valley gravel pits today. Birds on the move, with significant totals of 334 Shoveler and 200 Pochard. Also drake Smew, 11 Goldeneye, Goosander. Large Bittercress close to flowering at Stocker’s Lake.

Fantastic news! 🎉Over 300 pairs of nesting little terns raised up to 700 chicks at Winterton National Nature Reserve (NNR) this year - the best breeding season since 1978. In north Norfolk 150 pairs nested at Holkham, Scolt Head Island, & Holme Dunes NNRs, & Blakeney Point (1/2)
