This 2km road stretch was constructed by President Gen Amin's government in 1970s between Moyo and Laropi Port in West Nile as a prototype of the kind of road network he envisaged for Uganda.
It has no single crack, pot hole or a sign of getting any. Why doesn't Government of the Republic of Uganda especially ministry of works and Transport study under the microscope the ingredients of this road and use it as a benchmark for all roads in Uganda egos aside.
This song is called KASONGO or KSK (Kasongo Seif Kadima),
It was composed and sung by Josky Londa Kiambukuta for TPOK Jazz.
It was composed in Nairobi in 1983 and recorded in Brussels, Belgium, in 1983. It was released in 1984 in Brussels but also released in Nairobi in 1985.
Kasongo is a man you help, but turns around to harm you.
"Bandeko nasalisaka, bango ne babomi,"
My brothers that I help are the same ones who are finishing me.
"Molimo emasana nakosala mabe te,"
My soul is not used to doing evil things!
Enjoy!
That speech from Fight Club makes more sense every day, especially for modern men who haven't found a calling worth pursuing or dedicating their lives to.
Gulu, July-Aug. 2025.
Crowdfunding on X sent me to shoot this video marking 40 years since the 1985 coup.
The song came out at Easter 1985, when Acholi impunity rivalled today's "Gamba nogu".
Top hit on Radio Uganda, Chez Joseph, and school parties.

Jim, is not true at all. There is a very modern archives Centre on Lourdel Road, just after MoH. I have been there very many times and it’s a treasure trove. I would like to encourage you to check it out. You’d look out for Uganda Argus publications( personal favorite)
