Everything makes sense when you realize the God of the Old Testament is a wrathful Semitic storm-deity. Like a Zeus of sorts. Prone to fits of outrage, has a “special” people, kills as a first resort a lot, etc

The God of the universe is more entity than deity. A consciousness that resides in all of us. Well maybe not all but you get the point.
