@dhh It’s not hard to build this, issue is more regulatory and the Countries that WOULD allow this is likely not a safe place you’d want to keep your money in.

@HarryStebbings It’s unlikely frontier model companies will focus on ai personal assistants taking action. They have to figure out instantaneous training of models as well as reaching real AGi which is still some way off.

@HarryStebbings All very different products for different audiences and markets. Grok and X is more tech focused not mass market and Meta has badly judged forcing Meta AI onto people who now hate it. You need to own the hardware ecosystem, those will eventually win

How is AI tools searching a bunch of websites AGI? It’s basically an agentic browser summarizing webpages.

Until models can be trained on the fly in milliseconds and learn fast I struggle to see the route to true AGI.

Each time a new model gets released, the world is going to end, everyone is going to be out on the street, jobless, living in total abundance. Then… nothing happens.

Today, I looked around and there was nothing around me that AI had touched, in anyway.

There were people walking their dogs scooping poop in plastic bags, kids running around playing with a ball, people chatting and eating over coffee in a cafe with human waiters serving and wiping tables.

Outside of a very small tech bubble, AI is so early and will take much longer than many claim it will to reach the real world.

@jbahrdestefano Yes that’s the way agents work, how else can it take action. The Internet was built to stop agents and now we need to reengineer it to allow them back. There should really be a new protocol for agents that’s ready for 1000x more traffic and no not MCP.
