What kinds of argumentation, reasoning, and epistemic cognition happens when high-school students engage in @qualitytalkpsu about scientific phenomena? Find out in this article by @lw_wei@CarlaFiretto@Bekah_Duke@PKarenMurphy and yours truly! https://t.co/eWiA7FwY8o
It was fascinating to delve into students’ discussion discourse and investigate the relationship between epistemic cognition and argumentation! 💬🔬🤩Check out our new article published in Education Sciences: https://t.co/u9hJzQDasD #mdpieducation via @EducSci_MDPI

Our chapter has recently been published in "The Theory and Practice of Group Discussion with Quality Talk" along with studies on the implementation of Quality Talk in various classrooms in Taiwan. Feel free to check it out😊: https://t.co/sDImUvpEnh
Accidentally came across the social sciences citation index #SSCI in #EdResearch category. Looks like #ImpactFactor overall increased. Wow! RER has a 12.565 IF for 2020! Never understand how they are calculated. But quite impressive for an #EdResearch journal. 👍#AcademicChatter
I am also honored to share my work in the ECNU Review of Education, a journal initiated by the East China Normal University (ECNU) in Shanghai of China. Hope this work can reach more readers in China and help teachers facilitate productive, small-group talk in their classrooms.
The second piece from my dissertation just went online. I am super excited to share the challenges encountered and lessons learned from implementing a discourse-intensive intervention in a large class in China. Feel free to check out this open-access article. 😃

@ForystekLeann For language learners who learn English as a foreign language, I did not specifically look at their oral discourse but identified increases in their English written discourse. 😀
@ForystekLeann For science, yes. Please check out this article published in Science Education for details "Fostering high school students’ conceptual understanding and argumentation performance in science through Quality Talk discussions." :)
@ForystekLeann Hi LeAnn,
Thanks for your interest in our research. We have also looked at to what extent QT influenced science learning in high school. For my dissertation, I looked at the effect of QT on eighth-grade Mandarin-speaking students in their English classroom. :)
It was great sharing my perspective with students from Columbia U this week about using learning sciences to promote technology-enhanced learning when online learning takes place all over the world now in various forms. Connecting research, practice, and product is essential.
