Thrilled to share our review paper on @TrendsBiochem. We summarize the latest breakthroughs in expanding the genetic code beyond single noncanonical amino acids (ncAAs) — from orthogonal translation systems and quadruplet codons to rare codon recoding — enabling the synthesis of sophisticated “new-to-nature” biopolymers with multiple distinct functionalities.

Excited to share our new paper in @NatureChemistry!
Building on our Rare Codon Recoding (RCR) work @ScienceMagazine, we developed a multi-rare-codon strategy enabling the simultaneous incorporation of up to 5 distinct ncAAs in mammalian cells!

Chintan's @cpsoni_74 work demonstrating the efficient incorporation of non-α-amino acid backbones into proteins expressed in both E. coli and mammalian cells, just came out! A great collaborative effort from @cgem_cci! https://t.co/lJJklJcArk

Today in @Nature we report a new prime editing strategy that can rescue a common cause of many genetic diseases in a disease-agnostic manner. This approach converts a redundant endogenous tRNA into an optimized suppressor tRNA, enabling a single prime edit to rescue premature stop codons across different diseases.

What would our data landscapes look like if we could biochemically characterize 100s, 1000s, 10^n evolutionary sequences?
Papers like this make strides towards that moonshot dream!! Such neat work from @MargauxPinney lab!

Check out our new work in @J_A_C_S! A new post-translational backbone editing reaction replaces the peptide bond with a C–C bond as diketones & heterocycles. Proud of our team of undergrad & early grad students Helena, Isaac, Hana, and Riaz. Congrats!
