BREAKING: Axios claims the US and Iran have agreed to stop attacking each other and meet this week in Doha, Qatar.
Of course, this comes just 1 hour before the US stock market futures open.
This was Februaryโs news.. Chinaโs CXMT is not a threat to $MU. Recent industry checks show CXMTโs DDR5 is priced similarly to Micronโs, so there is no pricing advantage to drive a major share shift. Our president probably wonโt let this happen and even if $AAPL is eventually allowed to source some memory from CXMT, it does not change Micronโs outlook. Micron is already shipping advanced HBM for the AI market, while CXMT does not have a commercially competitive HBM product, leaving it well behind in the fastest growing and most profitable segment of the memory industry. The AI memory market remains dominated by Micron, Samsung, and SK hynix, while CXMT is still years behind in advanced memory technology. One potential Apple supply agreement does not change that reality or materially impact Micronโs growth through 2026 and 2027.
APPLE SEEKS U.S. APPROVAL TO SOURCE MEMORY CHIPS FROM CHINAโS CXMT: FT
Apple is seeking U.S. government clearance to purchase memory chips from Chinese DRAM maker CXMT, according to the Financial Times.
The move aims to ease supply shortages and rising memory chip costs driven by AI demand.
CXMT is on the Pentagonโs Chinese Military Company blacklist, making the proposal politically sensitive despite no current legal ban on purchases.
If approved, the deal could diversify Appleโs memory supply chain and reduce dependence on Micron, Samsung, and SK Hynix. (https://t.co/Vx4hGylMK9โ )
@devx89@DudeWhoInvests Bro micron already has locked in contracts, plus do you really think trump will let this happen? And if so, Google and other companies have already turned down china.
@LiebermanAustin If you were wrong about earnings reaction. Youโre probably wrong again but 900s doesnโt seem out of reach. I donโt think weโd get to 800 though
