Thanks to @andreashorn_ for unpacking a key finding of our recent Journal of Neurology publication👇!
This was a great collaboration that further supports continued investigation into whether early DBS could slow PD motor progression.

I really enjoyed speaking with @andreashorn_ alongside @DavidCharlesMD discussing our work evaluating whether DBS in early-stage PD could slow motor progression.
Check out our episode on @stimbrains! 🧠
It was great fun to talk with @MalloryHacker & @DavidCharlesMD on whether or not DBS for subthalamic nucleus could be involved in slowing of motor progression.
A long-standing effort that goes back to Alim-Louis Benabid.

It was a privilege to discuss Advanced Imaging and Connectomics for DBS alongside @rshervin, who gave a great overview of tremor targeting for neuromodulation! An excellent movement disorders course at #ASSFN2024 led by @RushnaAli6 and @Alonmogilner
To treat OCD, Deep Brain Stimulation to the ventral capsule is effective – but the optimal target site remains unclear.
In a huge collaborative effort @garance_meyer & @c_neudorfer set out to determine it @BiologicalPsyc1. A 🧵 👇👇

How do we do DBS @VUMC_Neurosurg, one of the largest centers?
New in @JNNP_BMJ from #BIENlab: Intraoperative physiology augments atlas-based data in awake deep brain stimulation. Including 451 patients.

What I particularly loved about the project was the collaborative nature – it all started with @MalloryHacker visiting my lab at @ChariteBerlin for three months and @NaN_Value & the others teaching her how to use @leaddbs (I was already at @Brain_Circuits in Boston).
We have a post-doc position available in the #BIENlab
@VUMC_Neurosurg studying brain networks using human neuroimaging and electrophysiology! Please pass on, DM for more info, and check out the posting: https://t.co/ffXlUBOL1y

It's hard to believe today marks 20 (!) years since I submitted my 1st @NIH grant. A lot has changed from the days of photocopying final content onto form pages, ink signatures + scrambling to get our submissions to @FedEx in time. Here are a few lessons from along the way👇1/7
I had my own #CaffeinatedConnection with Sheff Sharp, a research coordinator with movement disorders at @VUMCneurology, where we talked about brains (including #knitting brains!) and hiking! @BaristaParlor Wonderful to meet new-to-me colleagues at #VUMCNeuro
Excited to have @MalloryHacker and @DavidCharlesMD visit the Center for Brain Circuit Therapeutics at @BWHNeurology on Oct 11th – the talk will be hybrid, plz reach out to @laurenhart098 for the link or (Bostonians) address at Brigham.
Really neat @NatureComms study from @AshwiniOswal & @LitvakVladimir with data suggesting that the hyperdirect pathway may be the prominent route of transmission of high beta activity to the STN #Parkinsons https://t.co/03DtUB6ys9
