@MissEmZee @bwatwood @CaitlinGoldblum Where is this? We have had debate about having new employees begin training on personal devises while we wait for computers to arrive. Is it safe to assume every employee has a personal device with internet? #6323
I have had vendors present VR solutions. It’s expensive & hard to change. I recently l followed a tutorial on how to create a 360 learning experience using storyline 360 and it was fun! That & Tiffany Lam have me reconsidering application. https://t.co/l60glJZvfm #6323
@KcookEdu6323 @CaitlinGoldblum @EgleSlezas I haven’t been able to engage with them enough to know that. I would consider doing an intro activity. “Introduce yourself and why you chose this work opportunity”. In hopes it gives me some insight like Miller’s tech diary. #6323
Wondering if I could integrate polleverywhere into a training video on systems training without re-recording. Existing MP4 video done on snagit that will be published to a share point. #6323
@pantellere YouTube was still pretty grassroots at that time. I can’t help but feel that it is commercialized now. Less self reflection more selling ideas and stuff. I watch how my kids consume use it. Looks like this. I wonder Wesch’s perspective of it has changed in the last 8 years. #6323
@pantellere Could some of our learners have these same expectation in their learning experiences? I even envision that we could potentially evaluate a virtual learning by adapting the verbs into measurables. Flowing & generating might be a stretch #6323
Kevin Kelly’s 6 verbs were on point. Hard to believe his talk from 10 years ago is still so relevant. Less futuristic and more that we have lived it. The pandemic influenced this space exponentially. What verbs might we add or update? #6323
So much I didn’t know about YouTube before Wesch’s video. I have used YouTube as resource hundreds of times BUT never once thought about it as a community. I’ve never left a comment, never posted anything, or rated anything. It makes me wonder if maybe I’m missing out? #6323
@profe_jbarroso We are just introducing those tools at work. We had a version of onenote and I found it very useful for myself. A lot of our collaborative tools are disabled at work because of concerns with risk using any sort of cloud database. It’s a very frustrating #6323
Love how Jimmy Wales calls out that we don’t all agree on what is the truth in his TED talk. BUT….Neutrality is reporting on what reputable parties have said…. Who decides who is reputable? “The Monarchy”? #6323 #JimmyWales#TedTalk
I had no idea anyone could edit a Wikipedia article!! 🤯I have never put weight into the information that shows up there and never wondered where it came from. Shame on me! #6323
@bwatwood@KcookEdu6323@jessvalli I guess it depends on how you want to use Facebook. Using it to facilitate discussion it might be quite productive and useful tool. Using it to deliver learning content could be very distracting with all the flashing ads and the notifications. #6322
@jessvalli Some things I miss about blackboard and the ability to minimize or set notifications for specific discussion threads. Sometimes I don’t want to start from the first discussion post and have to scroll. I have been exploring how we could use Facebook differently with a non-profit.
@MissEmZee It appears to be. I feel like every learning app now has some capacity to be an LMS now. The high end version of what we will have at work has the capability to look and feel much like what we use for this class. The “regulators” have a lot of input on what we can have. #6323
Could apple news be considered an RSS? I don’t subscribe to it but it is always on my phone baiting me with articles, videos, and podcasts from many sources that are similar to those I do consume. #6323
