violence and institutional neglect since May 3. Present for the first time in such a rally was BJP MLA Paolienlal Haokip who expressed criticism for the govt, and insisted it was time for those in Delhi to come to the Kuki-Zo districts to hold political talks, not the opposite
Rallies were organised across Kuki-Zo districts in Manipur demanding that the central government bring an end to the ethnic violence. At the centre was the demand for union territory which leaders said is the only option left for the community, which is facing state-supported
Modern slavery can be in the food we eat the clothes we wear, the mobile phones and computers we use and the cars we drive and buildings we work and live in. This means modern slavery impacts the lives of all Australians.

@ICRC Sexual violence remains widespread and prevalent during armed conflicts and other situations of violence, as well as in detention despite being prohibited by international and national laws. It occurs in various contexts and has grave humanitarian consequences.
Patriots and Freedom loving people across the world,
We, Kukis/ #Kuki_Zo people, send very special wishes on this day, the 17th October, 2023.
Today is the 106th Anniversary of the Anglo-Kuki War fought from 1917 to 1919.
On this auspicious day, we remember the Supreme sacrifices of our great forefathers who fought the Mighty British In Defence of Our Ancestral Land and Freedom.
And wish peace and harmony for all people especially our hill brothers.
We re-iterate our pledge to never retreat nor give up our fight for justice and our rights. We will not negotiate with those who come to kill us.
However, we stand resolutely for the principles of peace and we are always ready to engage, but only at the right time with the right people.
To our people or Zofate, we may be known by different names Chin-Kuki-Mizo or now Chin-Kuki-Mizo-ZOMI +, but we are united by blood as One people. In the past we had agreed to call ourselves: Chin in Chin State, Kuki in Manipur and NE states of India, Mizo in Mizoram; but we must be inclusive, Zomi, Hmar etc should find their rightful place in your hearts and nomenclature list. We must allow diversity and different voices must be heard and given space to thrive. We must never forget that we are blood kins and "We are ONE family". To be inclusive and respect the diversity that exist within our own people is the way forward for our people. So give our people the dignity to choose CHIN-KUKI-MIZO-ZOMI - HMAR and the list goes on. All these identities are a part of us and should be accorded respect and used in the right context.
When Anglo-Kuki War is used in the context of Manipur, India, it does not sidelined the war efforts of our Chin people and their fight in Falam and Kukis / Thadou/ Haokip etc people in the eastern Burma sector. We use the term Anglo-Kuki War to represent the collective fight against the British during that period.
