From the comments I've noticed Ugns are not regretting Tanga at all. Ke should start considering other countries interests or else it could lose a lot. Ug is a critical player in EA oil business

Tz's problem has always been the lack of ambition & that's changing. Only Tznians & Egyptians can visit S.sudan visa free. Burundi & drc are Tz's allies by default. Tz also has sadc.

@ibiriti @cobbo3 Currently There's no substitute for Diesel in heavy machinery. Also all aircrafts are currently powered by fossil. We still have a long way to go until we no longer need fossil completely.

@manlikeaarons @maganja_ye71804 True but investing another $1.5-2.5B required to link their oil fields with EACOP without a necessity isn't easy. They may use EACOP option as a bargaining chip/ leverage over Sudan & smoothen their current condition.

@MativoMJohn @rodgers_adai That's only possible for developed countries with huge economies & manufacturing that no African country can match, let alone Kenya, a third worlder with a deteriorating manufacturing sector. There's no substitute of Cheap, readily available raw material in Africa's manufacturing

@maganja_ye71804 @manlikeaarons Hoima to S.sudan's oil fields is roughly 500-700km. The only reason they are currently not as motivated to build a pipeline to hoima is the existing pipeline through north Sudan that's already generating revenue. There's still a chance though, their relationship is deteriorating.

@DemonFramed Unless a new born or sick, humans could survive on 2 meals a week. 3+ meals a week was considered abundance. One meal a day is more than enough and actually healthier. Once your body adjusts to it, you'll never go back to multiple meals a day. Eating 3 times a day is a scam.

@otenyop I think magufuli was a good negotiator. He also focused a lot on infrastructure projects. I can almost guarantee that he would have settled this refinery deal immediately as he came aware of it. EA would have been more competent region if he lived a little longer.

The infrastructures required to accommodate industrial clusters & economical activities that come with oil refinery are immense. Once the refinery is fully operational, Lamu will grow into a serious city.
