Let me decode 3 things here:

1. Common people think the NIC was good enough, then why this? The truth is that the legacy NIC system was suffering from technical debt so massive it became a national security risk. Before this migration, 1000s of govt officials were secretly using personal Gmail/ProtonMail accounts for official work because the NIC interface was too clunky for modern mobile devices. By spending ₹180 crore, the govt is not just buying Zoho Mail; they are buying a Behavioral Correction. They are finally giving bureaucrats a slick enough interface (Zoho Workplace) so they stop leaking state data into foreign private clouds out of pure frustration.

2. 1 of the most hardly known technical details of this deal is that this is not the public Zoho you & I use. This is a Govt-Specific Cloud Instance. While the data sits on Zoho’s servers, the Sovereignty Layer is unique. The Indian govt reportedly mandated that the data be hosted in Tier-4 Data Centers with Geo-fencing controls. If a Zoho employee in California/Chennai tries to peek at a PMO email, the system is designed to trigger a Digital Self-Destruct of that access path. The govt has essentially rented Zoho's brain but kept the skull (data ownership) entirely for itself.

3. Finally, let us look at the math: ₹180 crore for 16.68 lakh accounts over the contract period. This works out to ~₹1080/account for the current project duration. This is a predatory pricing masterstroke by Zoho to evict Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace from the Indian public sector forever. Microsoft would have cost 5-10x more. Zoho did not win this on patriotism alone; they won it by making the cost of sovereignty cheaper than the cost of dependency.

கவிஞர் யுகபாரதி ஒரு பேட்டியில் இதைச் சொல்லிருப்பார். ஒரு பாடல் எழுத யுகபாரதி சிந்தனையில் இருந்த போது, இளையராஜா, ‘எழுதிட்டியா?’ எனக் கேட்கிறார்.

யுகபாரதி: “யோசிச்சிட்டிருக்கேன்..”

ராஜா: “யோசிக்கிறயா.. பாட்டெழுத யோசிக்கிறயா?”

யுகபாரதி: “இல்லப்பா… கொஞ்சம் புதுசா think பண்றேன்…”

ராஜா: “Think பண்ணா புதுசே வராதே?”

யுகபாரதி: “என்னப்பா சொல்றீங்க?”

ராஜா: “யோசனை என்பது அறிவு சார்ந்தது, கலை என்பது மனசு சார்ந்தது. இந்த tuneஐக் கேட்டவுடனே உனக்கு என்ன தோணுச்சோ அத எழுது”

அதற்குப் பிறகு, தான் எழுதிய பாடல்கள் பெரு வெற்றி அடைந்ததையும், ராஜா சார் - சந்தத்தைக் கேட்ட மாத்திரத்தில் டக்கென்று மனதில் தோன்றுவதை எழுது - என்று சொன்னது என்ன பொருளில் என்பதையெல்லாம் அந்தக் காணொளியில் பேசியிருப்பார் யுகபாரதி.

இன்று இந்தக் காணொளியைப் பார்த்ததும், ராஜாவின் அந்த அறிவுரை நினைவுக்கு வந்தது. இதில் ராஜா அப்படித்தான் மெட்டுக்கு சட் சட்டென்று வரிகளைத் தூவியிருக்கிறார்!

பிரபல புகைப்படக்கலைஞர் ஜி.வெங்கட்ராம் ராஜாவை புகைப்படம் எடுக்கிறார். அப்போது விதவிதமாக போஸ் தரச்சொல்கிறார். ஆர்மோனியம் வாசித்துக்கொண்டே இருப்பது போல போஸ் தரச்சொல்லியிருப்பார் போல. கைவைத்து ஏதோவொரு சுதியைப் பிடிக்கிறார். வாசிக்கிறார். “பத்தலைங்க.. பாடற மாதிரி ஆக்‌ஷன் வேணும்” என்று சொல்லியிருக்கக்கூடும். பாட்டு ஆரம்ப வரி பதிவாகவில்லை.

போதவில்லையா…
இன்னும் வேண்டுமா இன்னும் வேண்டுமா..” என்று பாடுகிறார்.

“கை கொஞ்சம்..’ என்று ஆக்‌ஷன் கேட்கிறார் புகைப்படக் கலைஞர். பாடிக்கொண்டே கையில் போஸ் தருகிறார்…

“வேண்டும் வரை வாங்கிக்கொள்ளு
வேண்டாமென்றால் விட்டுவிடு…” - எனச் சிரித்துவிட்டு,

“வேண்டுமென்றால் வாங்கிக்கொள்ளு
வேண்டாமென்றால் விட்டுவிடு..” என்று பாட்டைத் தொடர்பவர் சட்டென்று அடுத்து ஒரு மிக நல்ல வரியை கண்டுபிடித்துப் பாடுகிறார்.

“உனக்குப் பிடித்தது எனக்குப் பிடிக்குமா
எனக்குப் பிடித்ததே உனக்குப் பிடிக்குமே”

(‘பிடிக்குமே’ -வை அவ்வளவு அழுத்தமாகப் பாடுவதை கவனியுங்கள்!)

இந்த வரியைப் பாடிவிட்டு, அடுத்த இன்னும் வேண்டுமா?’வை தலையசைத்துக் கேள்வியாய் அழுத்திக்கேட்கிறார்.

புகைப்படக்கலைஞர் ‘கை (யில் ஆக்‌ஷன்) வேணும்’ என்கிறார்.

இப்போது பாடும் ‘இன்னும் வேண்டுமா..’வில் கையை அங்கே இங்கே அசைத்து ‘ஆஆ….’ என்று ஆலாபனையோடு பாடுகிறார்.

அடுத்த 'இன்னும் வேண்டுமா'-வைப் பாடிக்கொண்டே கையில் கேள்வியாகக் கேட்க, ‘அழகாப் பாடிட்டிருக்கீங்க சார்.. நிறுத்த முடியல’ என்கிறார் புகைப்படக்கலைஞர்.

இன்னொரு குரல் ‘கண்ணை மூடினமாதிரி பாடுங்க’ என்று சொல்கிறது.

அடுத்த நொடி வரிகள் வந்து விழுகிறது ராஜாவுக்கு..

“கண்ணை மூடினால்
கண்ணை மூடினால்
கண்ணை மூடினால் பார்வை மூடுமா
பார்வை என்பது கண்ணில் இல்லையே..

கண்ணை மூடினால் பார்வை மூடுமா

இந்த வரிகள் எவ்வளவு பொருள் பொதிந்த வரிகள்! அதோடு காணொளி Cut ஆகிவிட்டது. இவையெல்லாமே ஒன்றரை நிமிடத்துக்குள் நடந்தவை. எந்தப் படத்துக்கும் அல்ல. எந்தத் தயாரிப்பாளருக்கும் அல்ல. எந்த ஹீரோவுக்கும் அல்ல.
