Waymo, the supposed “king” of L4 autonomous driving, dropped this explanation in their report about why their cars collectively bricked themselves in San Francisco:
"Navigating an event of this magnitude presented a unique challenge for autonomous technology. While the Waymo Driver is designed to handle dark traffic signals as four-way stops, it may occasionally request a confirmation check to ensure it makes the safest choice. While we successfully traversed more than 7,000 dark signals on Saturday, the outage created a concentrated spike in these requests. This created a backlog that, in some cases, led to response delays contributing to congestion on already-overwhelmed streets."
Basically, a massive power outage killed the city's traffic lights.
Every time a Waymo car hit a dark intersection, it had to ping a remote human to confirm how to drive. The remote service center had never dealt with that kind of volume before and just totally collapsed 😱
Seriously, what kind of "autonomous" driving is that if you still need a human to babysitter the driving decisions? 😳
This just proves that self-driving has nothing to do with LiDAR; it’s about IQ. It’s about whether the car actually has intelligence—it’s an AI problem 🧠
And if you ask who has the strongest AI right now? There’s only one answer: TESLA 🎯
Invest in evergreen skills; marketing and sales skills, speaking & networking skills, How to use AI, etc. Leave all these tech jargon or Web3 rubbish. Just learn how to sell, bro!, you can never ever be poor!
Invest in yourself first!
Once you do that & you’re making money consistently, start with owning a piece of land with your friends in a high growth area (if you can singly afford it, do so), then invest in government bonds, some shares & if possible, invest in people’s businesses.
Buy more lands with your friends (I currently do this) & make sure these friends have propensity to be a very strong network in future.
Invest in your exposure too.. travel o! So you can be exposed to how things work in different places & it will significantly raise your standards in life and how you see the world- as a place with so much opportunities.
Invest in your environment. Don’t stay in environments that limits your ability to think and conceive crazy ideas and meet unbelievable people.
Again, invest in relationships & networking- very very important!

A number of people are talking about implications of AI to schools. I spoke about some of my thoughts to a school board earlier, some highlights:
1. You will never be able to detect the use of AI in homework. Full stop. All "detectors" of AI imo don't really work, can be defeated in various ways, and are in principle doomed to fail. You have to assume that any work done outside classroom has used AI.
2. Therefore, the majority of grading has to shift to in-class work (instead of at-home assignments), in settings where teachers can physically monitor students. The students remain motivated to learn how to solve problems without AI because they know they will be evaluated without it in class later.
3. We want students to be able to use AI, it is here to stay and it is extremely powerful, but we also don't want students to be naked in the world without it. Using the calculator as an example of a historically disruptive technology, school teaches you how to do all the basic math & arithmetic so that you can in principle do it by hand, even if calculators are pervasive and greatly speed up work in practical settings. In addition, you understand what it's doing for you, so should it give you a wrong answer (e.g. you mistyped "prompt"), you should be able to notice it, gut check it, verify it in some other way, etc. The verification ability is especially important in the case of AI, which is presently a lot more fallible in a great variety of ways compared to calculators.
4. A lot of the evaluation settings remain at teacher's discretion and involve a creative design space of no tools, cheatsheets, open book, provided AI responses, direct internet/AI access, etc.
TLDR the goal is that the students are proficient in the use of AI, but can also exist without it, and imo the only way to get there is to flip classes around and move the majority of testing to in class settings.

I am unreasonably excited about self-driving. It will be the first technology in many decades to visibly terraform outdoor physical spaces and way of life. Less parked cars. Less parking lots. Much greater safety for people in and out of cars. Less noise pollution. More space reclaimed for humans. Human brain cycles and attention capital freed up from “lane following” to other pursuits. Cheaper, faster, programmable delivery of physical items and goods. It won’t happen overnight but there will be the era before and the era after.

I’m not as worried about humans being replaced by AI. While AI surpasses us, the computational density of the human mind is much higher than the density of an AI supercomputer (which fills a missive building). An ASI supercomputer will be able to genetically engineer the human brain, and the next generation of humans will be insanely smart—we will genetically reengineer the human brain to super genius IQ, and we will continue to genetically reengineer humanity, to infinity.
