Just heard that the dog park is closed “due to liability reasons”, is that true?

@TownOfAmherst @Amherst_Paul hello! The dog park is completely cleared of ice and snow. Why is it still closed? Given all of your reasons as to why it was closed in the past, it should be open right now.

@TownOfAmherst I was informed part of the reason the dog park is still closed is that there is safety concern for removing heavy waste. Does local gov also remove waste from conservation areas? If so, why is this only a concern for the dog park?

@Amherst_Paul Friday looks like a beautiful day for the dog park to be open to the community :) paths are cleared, 42 degrees, no precipitation! Yuki would love to see his friends again!

@Amherst_Paul wondering what the reason behind closing the dog park from first snowfall until spring is? If it snows in oct. then it will be closed for half the year even if there is no snow or ice for a good chunk of time. Don’t understand why dogs can’t play in snow at the park
