My newsletter today was a break from political analysis. Instead it was a restart of my religious blog
This lefty Christian has alot to say about the evil at the heart of this administration.

Experience is not a permission slip to disregard a community’s voice. Seniority is not a substitute for lived experience. Washington clout does not give anyone the right to treat FL-20 like a fallback option.
Miami Herald: To beat Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Black candidates consider coalescing behind one person
Four of the Black candidates running in the Democratic primary for Florida’s 20th congressional district met in a closed-door meeting Monday to discuss coalescing behind one candidate in the hopes of beating U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

At some point we have to acknowledge that the Russian propaganda machine has infiltrated the online left to the extent that these people are caping for a regime as far right and imperialist as any they hate
I don’t fucking care
All results could have been reported last night and conspiracies would exist anyway.
I actively support the long count out of pure spite at this point. I find the ballot drops fun. Makes the following days interesting.
This is a reminder that there are real consequences to counting votes late. When citizens wake up, they expect they'll see some results that decently reflect the election outcome.
Seeing this — and then seeing Pan surge in the last 45% of the vote — destroys trust in elections.
In 2023, chief justice John Roberts & SCOTUS majority said Alabama's argument for a "community of interest" along the gulf coast was BS.
Tonight, SCOTUS takes a reversal and says that a court-ordered map was not legal because it failed to keep Gulf coast comunity together
Our resign to run laws have been clear for years. No Anthony, you cannot run for Congress and keep your county commission seat.
Time to decide if you think the risk is worth it.
(1) Shelby: SCOTUS says that Congress no longer has pre-clearance authority for jurisdictions w/ legacy of racial discrimination. (2) Allen v Milligan: SCOTUS then says AL discriminated when designing their map (3) Yesterday: SCOTUS says we should assume good faith on part of AL.
I have an article I’ll be writing after Florida qualifying ends next week. And I’m working on articles about Alabama and Louisiana redistricting and the VRA
And I have Florida centric articles in the works. Including a look at cd24 and cd14
A video of me trying to juggle…
1). 9-5 job
2). Campaign data work on the side
3). Articles on redistricting
On serious note. I have a few campaign projects I have hard deadlines on. Finishing those up before getting back to writing.
How good is Turek?
He put up a 13 point overperformance while sharing the ballot with Trump.
Him and Sand are the strongest ticket dems will likely nominate all cycle.
Steyer needs to beat Hilton by roughly 14 points in late mail to advance, and recent ED drops are already showing signs of meeting or even exceeding that benchmark.
Currently, the top-three is within 7.3 points. A very blue electorate could allow him to edge out Hilton.
You may have seen me post about 3 former Dem lawmakers in New Mexico who were running for their old seats. They were conservative Dems who'd opposed bills like abortion rights, paid sick leave, & AVR.
Result: All 3 lost tonight. 2 to progressive incumbents & one in an open race.
Every time the shadow docket has touched a contested map, the outcome favors Republicans.
Texas gerrymander: allowed.
New York Democratic flip: blocked.
Louisiana: VRA gutted.
Virginia Democratic map: refused to save it.
Alabama: a Black district erased.
Same direction every time.
Didn’t know this till this morning, but because no one got 35%, the South Dakota Governor primary goes to a RUNOFF
Doeden and Rhoden will advance to a July 28th vote
Over in South Dakota, we have four candidates all with between 20% - 30% of the vote
Incumbent Larry Rhoden, who acended to the job, was seen as vulnerable to Congressman Dusty Johnson or Speaker Jon Hansen
Instead... self-funding car salesman Toby Doeden is leading
Hamawy has won — meaning a doctor who treated the victims of the U.S.-Israeli genocide in Gaza is headed to Congress.
He refused to leave his rotation, even as Israel surrounded the hospital and cut off the water supply, until a new rotation of doctors was allowed in
This comment had some House Dems shocked — Jeffries is known for always, always supporting incumbents.
“He's never done that," one told @axios
Speaks to the strong anger towards DWS from Black electeds: https://t.co/NBuWbkx5G0
CA reporting continues to trickle in, but takeaways:
-Raman and Steyer still have realistic paths to the top two.
-Both the California governor’s race and Los Angeles mayoral race may remain uncalled until the weekend.
-Tomorrow’s late mail drops will tell us a lot.
Hang tight.
