So @NASA is backing up open science via NASA TOPS which wants to promote coding resources and how to use @ZENODO_ORG to assign DOIs to what people'll produce.

But really, what is your thesis here? Should we ignore literature alltogether? Do you have any solution whatsoever?

@rdmpage @plazi_ch @myrmoteras @Felipe_Simoes22 Well, taxonomists often curate data on their groups of expertise in spreadsheets and other formats in private files or databases, so, IMO, I would say this is not the same as "offloading to the community", but rather a call of action in the name of openness and linked data.
