@StevensonLDN Emergency responses are significantly worse as a whole. Wouldn't it be great if we had proper housing so that we didn't have to continue to be on this wheel?
What plans are in the works to get us towards increased housing availability? Any projects and if so, details?
@StevensonLDN A human being who is advocating against the removal of people with no other alternative, and you take the time to attempt to slime her, while you do sweet fuck all other than sneer atthe suffering of your unhoused constituents. You are absolutely vile.
Seek out ways to block it, numb it, forget about it. And then tell me that the very people who are forced onto your streets and parks need to be more grateful for the bags of shit nobody asked them if they needed, wanted, can consume, have room to keep, must be more grateful.
People want housing and to get out of the parks. They want a home, somewhere to lay their heads, to rest, to get well, to be safe. While care packages are dandy, maybe those who can no longer donate can get in the trenches to fight for housing.
Or, continue to dehumanize your
can spend the less than $200/month, or how they should just get a job, or go to a shelter where they are subjected to unspeakable psychological and physical damage/illness/injury/theft and empty promises separated from the people in their lives. And tell me that you wouldn't
I learned about the passing of a woman this morning. A woman died on our streets, in front of a library, bank, coffee shop, bar, restaurant, and book store.
I wish not to speculate on her passing, but I have my suspicions.
May she rest in peace.

1400 encampments in Ontario & Doug Ford wants to punish people instead of actually dealing with the crisis. He wants to make public drug use illegal, which it already is, he knows people will be using outside after CTS close. AG should have audited the private prisons being built
@MayorMorgan@fordnation With no due respect, this decision is heinous. The utter lack of supports/housing to give people while allowing the government to destroy what little they have in way of shelter and belongings will kill people.Supporting this with no plan in place for housing is death dealing.
A mandated caveat should be that this must not occur until proper safe/stable/affordable housing/shelter is provided. To clear the houses of the houseless in winter leaving them without shelter or housing is inhumane.
#Breaking: Doug Ford preparing to override courts, give police and municipalities enhanced legislative powers to 'dismantle' homeless encampments. https://t.co/9imlOqKHEn
We have no winter response in #ldnont, have slated to close vital services due to location, and banned fires in encampments. We have also refused to fund alternatives.
At what point do we call this premeditated murder?
@VANDUpeople Some of the most marginalized people in Canada were not depressed today at the spectre of fascism to the south. Because theyโve already lived through more polite Maple syrup versions of it.
