@anothercohen I agree AND also predict that for the next generation that enters the job market, creative thinking will be more scarce, and thus will command more of a premium, especially as AI tools proliferate. Then the pendulum will swing back...
@Austen Who is telling them that? Everyone. 1. The schools that need to justify the $80k debt; 2. The employers that require a degree even though what they actually care about is experience; 3. The parents who were raised in a world where the degree actually justified a higher wage.
@jzux Having clarity on the person/relationship you're looking for is like 75% of the effort. A lot of the challenge is staying in a stuck pattern of dating the wrong type of people or people who don't want what you want.
@brnjohnson@jzux This is effective but the catch-22 is you can't do it anticipating that you'll meet someone. The point is you have to commit to the bit!
@RichardvReeves@tylercowen@phil_wellesley Why is the data adjusted for inflation when the average worker's salary hasn't grown with it? Run the chart again with CPI-adjusted college fees vs CPI-adjusted HHI, then tell us if the price has or hasn't gone up.
@brnjohnson Please listen to Dead Eyes, a delightful podcast on the perils of show business and an entirely too earnest detective mystery about something with little to no consequence. Bonus: Tom Hanks!
