@fonte_de_fadas@Sting_Heavy@hipearlrose@GovTimWalz That is a much better question. Plenty of legitimate reasons to question/oppose the data center buildout. Frustrating how many people just make up a problem (water) instead of saying whatever it is they are actually upset about.
@Sting_Heavy@fonte_de_fadas@hipearlrose@GovTimWalz That stat’s from old evaporative-cooled data centers. Google’s Hermantown plan in Duluth uses air cooling — water use is limited to “kitchens and bathrooms,” per Google. That’s literally why they picked northern MN. https://t.co/Rodd9fekdX
@AcerFur Haven’t really looked at the proof. How do they control distances between points in the image of the projection? Their projection to a planar graph retains the structure of the lattice in an important way?
@tbpn@ATabarrok What he says is mostly true but it is it not so much a rich person’s problem as a rich society’s problem — and even more so, a poor man in a rich society’s problem
@littmath@yudhister_ Hmm are number theory papers ones that use number theoretic methods or ones that prove number theoretic results? Guess you’re saying the latter.
