Thus, we can infer that humans are close to “the dumbest a civilized species can be.”

It’s strong enough to not have to care whether or not you think it’s aligned; it has no incentive to fool you.

@TzviGot @allTheYud Maybe not “just” tweaking. I think he means that by the time you reach 50% you have insight and understanding far beyond what we have today, and this is a foundation you can build on. Whereas today, the doom guarantee stems from us not understanding at ALL what we’re doing.

Re: not straight line: okay fair. Let’s be pedantic then. The claim is not “exponential”. The claim is “sigmoid”. But we haven’t hit the inflection point yet, so for now we’re effectively on an exponential.
