Has Murdoch hack Simon Benson reported on this in The Australian yet?
Had a Labor Sports Minister done this, he'd be frothing at the mouth in a double page spread!
Oh, I forgot, Benson is "Mr McKenzie"!!

Another great piece by John Hewson.
“In the private sector, there are strict rules with serious penalties for false and misleading statements and practices, and other forms of misconduct. This is especially the case in advertising to consumers…
How is it, then, that politicians should be able to speak and act with impunity? It’s no defence to dismiss such questions with the assertion that “it’s just politics”. Clearly this is not good enough. No wonder voter trust is being eroded”
We need more transparency with regard to political party funding. We need more scrutiny with regard to where donations are coming from and we need a cap on donations on all parties.
Campaign advertising and truth in campaign advertising should be regulated. This should coincide with media regulation and truth in media legislation.
People are tired of politics. Most of all they are learning in the last decade or more that politics is more about power and money for the few - and not truth and values for the many.

For many years @TurnbullMalcolm has been imploring coalition MPs and senators to approach energy policy with a focus on "engineering and economics" instead of "ideology and idiocy". This statement today is the CSIRO's polite way of saying the same thing
@abcnews 28 years ago @EVERALDATLARGE discussed the Inland Rail proposal with PM John Howard…the Coalition have been in Govt for 20 years since then.Has the Inland Rail been completed? No just maintenance of
existing line.
But Nuclear in 10 years….Dreamin’.
@auspol
Isn't it amazing that all through the LNP term as government they refused to discuss "on-water matters" but now Peter Dutton is happily going on television to tell people smugglers exactly how they can beat Australia's system. #auspol
Albo at NPC:
David Crowe: "So you were prepared to do this even at risk to your integrity"
Albo: "My integrity is based on not looking at low and middle income workers and saying I'm Prime Minister but I can't help you, when I know I CAN help you"
Got 👏👏👏for that.
I've been giving a lot of thought and tried to sort the wheat from the political chaff but have come to the conclusion that Matt Canavan is genuinely stupid.
@JonesHowdareyou Oh yes, Simon Benson, the 'journalist' who for months sat on information that had national security and governance implications, because he determined it necessary for the commercial success of his forthcoming book.
