I think the challenge is that everyone can now build apps
But
1) almost nobody has distribution (like an audience), or
2) the money to pay for distribution (ads or UGC), or
3) the creative genius to get distribution for free (classically called guerilla marketing)
Shower thought: where's the uBlock for AI?
Turns out it exists. Extensions that hide AI overviews, videos, posts.
Zero adoption. Because you can't block what you can't see.
turns out there's already an adblocker but for AI. blocks AI overviews, AI youtube videos, AI posts on socials. nobody's heard of it. nobody's using it.
is AI slop just not annoying enough yet, or do people not know they can block it?

people getting fired for having a little fun
the reason why we have less things with unique character nowadays
fun is offensive and a nuisance to many people
We made MapleNorth, a brand generator, for ourselves when we realised that Claude Code would ship more often than not a "same same" look that doesn't align with the product. We built it before Claude Design came out (that works also for brand kinda.., but you need to take your time to prompt it). That being said, Claude Design is more of a UI generator than a Brand Designer Agent.
Second reason was that most of the logo generators we tried were shit, which forced me to draw svgs in the Figma (Manually. Can you imagine?). Last days also.. GPT Image 2.0 model has come out that was/is ok for general content generation (also on-brand), but in the end it generates nice PNGs, while we need svgs to satisfy our ocd.
So here is Maplenorth on ProductHunt, if we like it or not it is now live and it is too late to take down so let's go.

Happy to answer anything about how we built it, or hear what we got wrong.
