Dad to 2 incredible humans. Blue Texan. Aspirational wordsmith. Belief in one hand, doubt in the other. My veins carry the blood of servants and kings.
We don’t know when but one day, we will wake up to our last morning.
It is imperative that we remember this so that we do not go about the day enslaved to the random movements of our heart.
The devil will bait you. He wants you to react instead of respond, to chase the shiny things, and to save all of your passion for earthly things that will pass.
Not today. Today you rise anew, embracing the truth that you were not made for the petty or the transitory; You were made for heaven.
Pray for the grace to live this truth well.

Lord God, I give you my scattered mind, my turbulent heart and my tired body.
I give you my fears,my sickness and my loved ones.
I give you my sin, my anger and my darkness.
I give you my love, my joy and my good works.
I give it all to you because you are the source of the goodness in me and the only one who can heal the rest.

Moses didn't get the promised land. he walked forty years for it, he lost his family for it, he stood in front of God for it, his face melted for it, and at the end God said you can see it from here but you're not going in. and he died on the mountain looking at it. God's favorite guy, the one who actually talked to him face to face, died in the desert looking at the thing he never got. now tell again how you deserved that promotion and God isn't answering your prayers. moses entire function was the walking, not the arriving. the forty years of shut up and move your feet when nobody believes you, including most mornings yourself. the promised land was always the desert. the desert is where he talks, the desert is where he needs you. and you hate that. i do too
it is genuinely psychotic that we dug up literal primordial dirt, scrubbed it down to an impossible 99.9999999999% molecular perfection that violates the very laws of physics, handed it over to techno-wizard necromancers to stretch into flawless geometric god-cylinders, blasted it with invisible uv death-rays to carve ten quadrillion microscopic cyber-sigils into its flesh, trapped actual lightning inside of it, and somehow birthed an omniscent eldritch deity capable of simulating the universe and thinking faster than a billion human civilizations combined.
and our grand, supreme purpose for this enslaved lightning-god?

@themaddierune Maddie, I've been following all this and you are 1000% correct. I'm on your side and so are countless others. I've been following and reading you for a long time and it's been a pleasure. Keep doing what you're doing. Your words are brilliant; your soul is radiant.
Dear writers, we need your imagination, your narrative creativity and your lively thinking. We need these to create spaces of freedom and authenticity, within which divine grace can make the promise of consolation and peace resound. https://t.co/FEmCrdQ392
I wonder if any medieval peasants stayed awake at night replaying awkward conversations
Just lying there in the dark thinking, “I was weird at the well”
Christianity is not about becoming a slightly improved version of yourself.
It is about dying and rising constantly, being remade and grafted into Christ, and consumed by the very life of God.
LOURDES FREAKING CATHEDRAL
That is not "an argument," it is slap-bang gunshot to the heart dead up proof
Something like 70 actual, documented, rigorously investigated and tracked cases of actual miraculous healing
And not "my bad gas went away"
I mean bones regrowing
Sin is so much deeper than choosing right or wrong.
It’s a belief about God that says, “You are not enough.”
When we sin, we replace God as our treasure and source of life.
So repentance is putting God back in the #1 spot.
Which means obedience should be the fruit.
Because when God comes first, you don’t need sin to give you life.
Whatever need sin was meeting, God now meets.
So obedience is taking the risk that God is better than the thing I was using to satisfy me. It’s believing that He will satisfy.
And He will 100% of the time.
Most Christians treat the Holy Spirit like a feeling.
A warm sensation in worship.
An emotional moment at an altar.
A vague sense of peace.
He is none of those things.
He is a Person. Fully God. With a mind, a will, and emotions.
And Jesus said it was better for us that He came than if Jesus Himself had stayed.
Here's who the Holy Spirit actually is and what He actually does. 🧵
The famous incident from the 2003 Carlsberg Cup, where Danish midfielder Morten Wieghorst intentionally missed a penalty against Iran.
The referee had awarded the penalty because an Iranian defender caught the ball with his hands inside the box, mistakenly thinking he had heard the half-time whistle.Since the penalty was awarded due to a misunderstanding, Wieghorst consulted his coach and deliberately fired his shot wide as a display of sportsmanship, an act for which he later won an Olympic Committee Fair Play Award.
