@Tripenthat@fesshole I had a baby last year. They needed to see we had a car seat. They didn’t care that he wasn’t in it when we left the hospital because I was still holding him in my arms to stop him crying. We literally could have borrowed the car seat for show and they wouldn’t have known.
I don’t understand how the entire government are allowed to go on holiday at the same time!?! No other company would allow that. And most aren’t supposedly running the country! How sociopathic can one government be?!? #accountability#ToriesOut#TheSystemNeedsToChange
So the HS has massively flared up thanks to the stress of going back to work / baby starting nursery / and the #CostOfLivingCrisis; specifically the #EnergyCrisis and the predicted rises. Mental health is…it’s not a great as I would like.
@JedL2b@MartinSLewis@CornwallInsight I couldn’t fix when mine came up because I was on maternity leave and couldn’t afford the suggested hike. And now I’m back at work it’s rocketed to an amount that’s unaffordable for anyone not on at least £60k.
@JaneCommon@Soreheadedbear I did the opposite, kept NOW to catch up on the Atlantic stuff but have dumped Netflix. Will swap them out in a few months probably.
@PilotTVPod - as it’s @PrideBrighton weekend I would like to ask what are your favourite queer characters in TV history? And let’s take a second to acknowledge the massive bi-erasure that’s gone on over the decades on TV because it’s unlikely a bi character will be in the answer.
@kieranlee1970@PilotTVPod@PrideBrighton I have to admit to only know Rosa! And she is awesome, and very new, and American. But thank you!! This is absolutely the kind of point I love to be proved wrong on 😊.
@maddramaqueen@WHO Well you’re looking for reason in a purely emotional post😉. And yes they do, but they also advise hospitals to advise against it. The problem is, that advice gets pushed probably a little too hard. It’s a fine line.
@JessSchrader22@WHO I’m sure it’ll be absolutely fine, most people are 🙂. And if you do struggle, there are some excellent formulas out there to help. My one piece of advice would be trust yourself. Don’t let yourself be badgered either way. It’s your child, you choice. You’ll be great 😊
And yes, there is good behind the idea of #breastfeedingweek. But there needs to be more acceptance and public acknowledgment of the fact that not everyone can. And that’s okay. That’s also natural. And that doesn’t make you a lesser mum.
To the women who were not able to breastfeed; you are still amazing mothers who gave your child the best start in life. It may be #breastfeedingweek but you still deserve celebrating!
And instead of pupping for 30mins every 3hrs for 5ml of milk - after attempting breastfeeding and giving a bottle - I should have just gotten some sleep! But you live and you learn.
