@alexrotha@tmorrison888 I’m not happy with how this has all unfolded. I’m also conscious I don’t have all the facts. What’s triggered this from a player who has bled navy blue for most of his tenure? The club has built its membership around Charlie & he has fallen completely out of love with the club.
@ash_gallagher@navybluegooner Geelong does. Sullivan, De Konning, Neale. They don’t want to trade any of them, but want one of the leagues best players to come over. Hard to see Cameron, Curnow & Neale in the same forward line. And they’re stacked with key defenders. Their window is the next 2-3 years.
@navybluegooner Media starting to realise that we’re not budging & are now rightly agitating the chasers. None have come & said they want him. He hasn’t come out & said he wants to leave. Time to get serious.

Spot on re Carlton. The chasers can either put up or shut up. Curnow makes all three serious contenders next year & probably then subsequent 3-4 years. The players you mention won’t change that if they’re gone.
@___Cashy@DidCarltonWin So Curnow & De Konning for Petracca, pick 6 & Suns future 1st? Thing is, at least one of those 1st round picks will go to Walker…assuming the system isn’t drastically changed for next year. But it gives us trade currency for Butters next year. I don’t mind it.
@Azzanator1@FOXFOOTY I’d take Walter, Flanders & pick 6 for Curnow & a 3rd & 4th rounder (because the AFL seems to always want the same in as out or close enough). Suns don’t need pick 6 anyway because they have so many top tier academy players to bring in. Flanders already wants out, but Walter?
@MaccaJ65@3AWisfootball@CalTwomey It’s not different or his reporting isn’t different? I love Cal but he hasn’t been as definitive about the Curnow chasers needing to put up or shut up like he is with the Hawks. He’s adamant Curnow is going yet argued today against the idea that Merrett can’t return to Essendon.
@heath_buck@maluckyday99 Sure, but the Swans need a key forward. So he’s going to the Swans. Gee the Swans forward line looks good all of a sudden…
Umm…Carlton anyone? Well they might need to accept Florent, McInerney, Wicks…
@AFLNow@kanecornes Because he’s not pandering to the player managers or the players. He’s not compromised by relationships that feed you tidbits of intel throughout the year to keep you relevant. He’s might have one eye on Port but the other is open wide.
@emforektm@RalphyHeraldSun But they want Curnow. Sure, what about Carlton? IDK, but the Suns want Curnow. Ok, but he’s contracted & is one of the best key forwards. So, Carlton should get overs, right? Well he wants to leave & the Suns want Curnow. Oh, & player A, B. C…H, N, O are untouchable…
@Bombers_Boss Please do us all a favour & walk away @essendonfc. Then convince Merrett to go to Melbourne for a direct swap. If he has to go then let him, but not to the Hawks. Everyone’s happy.
@WCAdams@TheDazMail@AFL Yep. Could well be. Or not. How would we know with the AFL & this administration? More involved in the game than they should be & less transparent than ever. That’s how it feels to me.
