@lifeof_jer I super appreciate this, and would hope others would share too. I especially appreciate all of your commentary through the comments. I see solid leadership principles, humbleness and an openness to explore different solutions. Thank you!
@VraserX@thedorbrothers Totally unbelievable!! You had me until the Cybertruck ;-p!
Really though, this is a glimpse into the art of the possible.
Something that I keep hearing and relevant here. This is as bad as it's ever going to be from here on out.
Truth. If I may be so bold, we’re not all Elon, so another option is to be kind and have compassion in our daily lives. A smile or kind word for those around us when you never know who is fighting their own hidden battles.
You never know the ripple effects that simple gesture may have down the road. Sometimes scale isn’t immediately evident.
NEW: Florida fisherman uses drone to save drowning young girl caught in rip current
Andrew Smith was using his fishing drone off Fort Pickens Beach when he spotted a young girl caught in a riptide
'There was this girl screaming: "Can anybody swim?"' he said
Smith cannot swim but noticed life preservers nearby and used his drone to fly one out to her
'I flew it out there and I missed really bad on the first drop,' he said
The girl had been swimming with two others when she got swept away
'She was way out there. If I didn’t get her with that one, I don’t know if she would have made it any longer,' Smith said
First responders arrived and pulled her to safety
A red flag warning was in effect, but no lifeguards are currently on duty until Memorial Day
The drone he used is built for fishing and can carry up to two life jackets
@dremilyportermd@BCBSTX It's so disheartening to get a denial when your Doctor prescribes something they believe will fix an ailment. The going back and forth with the carrier, then finding an alternative and delaying treatment is a great indication insurance is not about my health.
Hey @elonmusk , if you need some experienced folks in the DC metro area that are veterans, have seen fed govt and contracting abuses, and have active clearances, hit me up. Also: can bring a mix of tech skills to the table. Bonus is military vets can shitpost with the best.
