@UTFOZZIE@tangotiger Seems you could refine this concept a lot. K worth more? Probably because it removes the possibility of a baserunner advancing. Adjusted for the batters faced? Seems doable, too. League OBP was easy to get a rough idea, though.
@cognazor I feel this. 16 acres, 15 minutes from town. Sometimes wish we'd bought in the new development with miles of green ways. Then I watch my boys construct trees houses through the woods, build out a blacksmith shop under our barn, raise a couple pigs. None could happen in town.
@JoshDaws In academia, you regularly do include those who contributed ideas, significant thoughts, or substantive revisions. "Proofread/copy edit this paper" is a different level of involvement (and authorship) than "give me 10 new ideas in this realm and I'll combine my favorite two."
@shagbark_hick 20% of the population of Burnsville could live in the motel. I'm all for reviving rural America. But $210k cash is still a significant outlay. I'd guess annual maintenance is ~$15k/yr w/the buyer being his own handyman. That's a lot of stays just to cover capital maint.
@bgcts Have been having this conversation with my son (12) whooves working with his hands--leatherworking, blacksmithing, etc--told him at breakfast this morning he should consider apprenticing at/with a successfully smith (several in mind). Opportunity is there.
@Blochead4real "Convert" Ohtani pitching value (19 WAR) to hitting value (roughly '24-26 is 19 batting WAR). So if he had .290/696 HR/1,600 RBI, 250 SB, OPS+ of 170 or so....are those GOAT numbers? Maybe not quite, but they're getting in the neighborhood
@TheEXECUTlONER_@LiamEvergreen@thetoyman1 Not sure what the softball rule is, but in baseball, the contact must aid the runner. Simply touching a runner is not a violation.
@BradleyGloves the "three true outcomes " in analytics are the three things that make it boring for kids. Trying to imagine a wiffle ball game in the yard where the ball never got put in play. Boring.
@RootofGoodBlog My experience in Sweden (only been in norway for a few days) is that it's relatively easy to find a moderate priced meal ($12-18), especially for lunch, but that there is very little "cheap" food.
@bgcts@NigelBest5 We have been on the lookout for fireflies this summer and just haven't had very many. Got some nice lightning tonight to admire, though
@DeanTTraining Worked at McDonalds for a bit in college. People can't believe instill eat it after working there. I tell them working there is why I still go eat. Who doesn't want 100% beef in their lives?
@Craig_Sandlin@Willrich23@ScoringChanges The portion of the play in question regarding the error is the catch at first. Once the third baseman has made the difficult play and throw, all that remains is to determine whether ordinary effort by the first baseman would result in an out...
