Republicans didn’t cut “government waste.”
They cut your health care.
They cut your social security.
They cut your retirement.
They cut your SNAP.
AND they raised your taxes.
They’re just hoping you don’t notice.
this man's legacy is so much more than Disney. SO much.
Show and Tell. Closer than Close. Can You Stop the Rain. If Ever You're in my Arms Again. Feel the Fire. I Wish You Love.
A whole quiet storm LEGEND.
We in the Black community need to do a better job of celebrating our legends while they’re still here to receive their flowers. Peabo Bryson’s catalog is timeless, and his music still stands strong today. Organizations like the BET Awards, Soul Train Awards, and NAACP Image Awards should do more to recognize and honor the artists whose contributions helped shape the culture. Legacy talent deserves to be celebrated not just in remembrance, but while they can still enjoy the recognition they’ve earned.
BREAKING NEWS: With broken hearts and profound sadness, the family of two-time Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and balladeer, Peabo Bryson, announces his passing.
Internationally celebrated as the legendary voice behind the Oscar-winning Disney classics “Beauty and the Beast” and “A Whole New World,” Peabo also captivated audiences through timeless R&B classics, including “Feel the Fire,” “I’m So Into You,” “Can You Stop the Rain,” “If Ever You’re In My Arms Again" and "Reaching for the Sky” among many others.
He transitioned peacefully at 5:00 p.m. ET on the evening of Tuesday, June 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and those closest to him.
For more than five decades, Peabo’s extraordinary voice served as the soundtrack to some of life’s most cherished moments. His music carried generations through joyful celebrations, great love stories and enduring moments of comfort and inspiration, creating a legacy that will forever live in the hearts of those who loved him and the countless lives he touched through song.
In this deeply difficult moment, the family asks for privacy as they mourn the loss of a beloved husband, father, family member, friend and artist whose impact extended far beyond the stage.
“We are tremendously moved by the outpouring of love, prayers and support from fans, friends, and colleagues around the world,” the family shared. “While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing how deeply Peabo was loved and how many lives were touched by his voice and his generous spirit. His legacy and music will live on for generations to come.”
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the compassion shown during this time and asks for continued privacy as they navigate this immeasurable loss. They remain deeply appreciative of the prayers, love and support from around the world.
Celebration of life and memorial arrangements will be announced at a later date.
Black brilliance will ALWAYS excel! Can you imagine how powerful we’d be if white people actually left us alone? I would’ve loved to live in the Greenwood District in Tulsa. (Black Wall Street)
We are beautifully blessed!

105 years after the Tulsa Race Massacre, community members gathered at Standpipe Hill to collect soil honoring victims and survivors whose lives were stolen or forever changed. The bloodshed that destroyed Black Wall Street was not just history, it was a devastating attack on Black prosperity. We honor the victims by refusing to let the truth be forgotten.
Sister Ashley did a great job exposing Abraham Lincoln. He did not care for Black people.. He wanted to ship us back to Africa or the Caribbean.. He only free this slaves in the south to punish the Confederate.. the war the Civil War was never about free in the slaves. It was about keeping the union together.. the confederate wanted to keep slaves and they not wanted to keep the Union intact.
The Civil Rights Movement is under attack. We must pick up the fight at the state and local level to protect our communities and build a future defined by economic, social, racial and environmental justice for all.

#OTD Jun 1, 1921: The Black community of Tulsa, Oklahoma, was left in ruins following several days of violent attacks by white mobs outraged that Black residents had organized to protect a Black man from being lynched.

A reminder that the Spurs won 34 games last season and didn’t make the playoffs. In fact, they hadn’t been in the playoffs since the 2018-19 season. To go from that to beating the defending champs on the road in a Game 7, and now on to the NBA Finals is absolutely incredible.
People have wondered who is the star that is going to take LeBron’s place when he retires, I think it’s Wemby. Think about what he’s about to do over the next decade.
The Clinton 12 were a group of twelve Black students who integrated Clinton High School in Clinton, Tennessee in 1956 following the 1954 Supreme Court ruling of Brown v. Board of Education.
The Black community of Clinton had fought since 1947 for the right to a high school education. The local Black community was represented by Thurgood Marshall and other Black attorneys.
The Clinton 12, registered and attended school for one day without incident in late August of 1956.
On September 1, the White locals and the Klan launched a brutal riot.
The violence became so dangerous that many of the Clinton 12 withdrew from the school. The principal's family fled the town for their safety.
On December 4 1956 a white pastor escorted the remaining of the Clinton 12 to school and was badly beaten by a white mob.
The school was subsequently bombed.
Lesson: racists would rather burn it all down rather than have equality. #BlackHistoryWithLana #DemsUnited

@allenanalysis Tell your children about Ruby Bridges, the first Black child to integrate an all-White public elementary school in Louisiana when she was just 6 years old. #RubyBridges is still alive and is only 71 years old. Yes, just 71, and racism still exists. She was a brave little girl.
🚨 DAMN.
Ruby Bridges said the moment she finally understood what was happening during school integration was when a little white boy told her:
“My mom said I can’t play with you because you’re a nigger.”
She was SIX.
And she said hearing that felt like “a huge weight lifted,” because suddenly everything made sense.
Why the classrooms were empty.
Why adults were screaming.
Why U.S. Marshals had to escort her to school.
Not because of anything she did.
Just because of the color of her skin.
A six-year-old child realizing an entire country was angry at her for existing.

Yall gone hear me one day.
Black turnout exceeded white turnout in Louisiana’s May election.
Black voters are 31% of registered voters, but made up 34% of the people who showed up.
I was on here every day telling y’all to vote because this is what happens when Black people participate at higher rates. We influence elections the same way we influence culture.
Jeff Landry lost all 5 constitutional amendments. Even in Republican parishes, voters rejected his agenda.
Never underestimate the power of informed, organized Black voters.
And to be clear, this happened while Black folks are underfunded in this work in Louisiana.
One thing the record will always show is, I did my part.

If you're happy about the Kennedy Center decision thank Joyce Beatty. @RepBeatty was the plaintiff in the case that made Donald cry and write a 10 page essay about how he was going to abandon the Kennedy Center because they ordered his name taken off of it.
