@HealthRanger There’s almost as much Nuance to Geo politics as there is talking about health. So stick to health topics instead of myopic geopolitics posts.
It’s too early - first part of swamp cleanup is NGO money - cartel money - focus will be domestic soon. It has to be. We have all been paying the terrorist tax on oil for decades and these “terrorists” were all created - Look no further than the old European colonial elite - and the City of London.
@Don_brose4354@BretWeinstein Stop watching mainstream media. ever thought about why countries like Venezuela and Iran were sanctioned? So the high table can run black market economies - banking - get cheap resources. Mullahs - khomeini - all billionaires.
@ggreenwald You are too good of a reporter to post some dumbed down summary. This is BS and there are a lot of factors at play right now that are America first.
Brett, don’t post slop like this. Dumbing down post for the masses. The institutional inertia makes it impossible to come in and clean house like a snap of the finger. The forces opposing him and the corrupt members of his party are making it difficult to get anything done. His grade is incomplete at this point - 2 1/2 years to go.
The American people need to make sure he gets a chance after the midterms - where the gloves can then come off. Then we can evaluate the Administration.
The problem still exists of 1 side sabotaging the other though.
@Lynmorales@WuTao2023@LaurenWitzkeDE The truth is simpler and less cinematic: concentrated power, weak oversight, and opaque institutions create environments where corruption can thrive. That’s what we should be spotlighting structural failures, not grand unified conspiracies.
The “you’re in power” argument is a canard. Why? Because The procedural rules of the Senate impose a super-majority requirement for certain legislation. This is one of the one cases. The Senate’s Republican majority would pass this bill in a heartbeat; the problem is they don’t have sufficient votes to move it to the Senate Floor. They need 8 additional votes from the Democratic members.
And,by the way, if you are not in power, this is precisely why you do not want the rules changed. Under those circumstances, a single party with a majority of one in each chamber along with a supportive President would have unfettered ability to virtually anything they want.
Unfortunately in a situation where the party in control is willing to maintain the status quo, the minority opposition has a very big problem.
