@HDRgameAnalysis any tips for achieving hgig-like tone mapping in a monitor with no preset? have the asus PG32UCDM and haven’t really found a good solve for correct tone mapping
@GenePark exact same boat. pulled the trigger last week. surprisingly, chatgpt was a good resource for thinking through various pros/cons of the different parts I was eyeing. also good for spot checking compatibility issues re how well all the components play together
@Bernstein 2 > 1, but the first is totally fine if you’re gonna be on your feet all day running errands, and it’ll better than half the other dudes about town in most cities
@MikeIsaac started last week and got immediately hooked. apparently it matches players based on play style & vibes. hoping it steers me to the friendly, ‘let’s take the fight to the robots & share the wealth’ players
@seaweedanxiety@MikeIsaac started with decibullz (semi-custom) and they worked fine, but couldn’t get the fit quite right. the custom-fitted ones are *much* better in terms of comfort & sound quality. music is noticeably more distinct / clear. fwiw I went with sensaphonics but i think they’re all similar
@hamms716@willystaley similar boat. when the nyt 21st c list came out, I would have easily breezed past it but saw the staley stamp of approval for train dreams when it showed up on knausgaard’s list. very thankful for the rec. now i tell everyone to read it
@BilgeEbiri his narration was superb. crisp and direct; perfect tone for the story. can still clearly hear his voice describing casting techniques all these years later
