Simple infrastructure changes can affect the safety of wildlife. Since we have taken over what used to be their homes, we should make sure they can safely inhabit ours

This is very sad to see. Having a dog as a pet because it is popular is NOT a good option. Do not have animals as pets unless you will properly care for them.

The popularity of dog cruelty has risen throughout the years and this is due to the raise in popularity of having dogs as pets. With the rise of dog ownership, the rates of dog cruelty has also risen. #39canimals

The decline in the sales of pet stores will lead to a decline in the production of puppy mills. Proving that with government and legislation creating new laws and regulations in order to lower the number of puppy mills, the problem will be helped immensely.

By passing better legislation, we can make the treatment of dogs like this to be illegal. From there inspections can take place to save any dogs found and relocate them to a better home.

Since there are no forms of inspections, there is no authority which makes sure the regulations placed are being met at the facility. Furthermore proving that these puppies are kept in facilities that have little to no regard for their wellbeing. #39canimals

I learned in this class that until the 1980s animal consciousness was not considered in the science community. It was the further study of animals and their emotions and intelligence that set the base for the animal rights movement. #WhatIlearnedin39C

I had no idea that elephants had the emotional capacity and memory to be able to mourn dead members of their heard. Studies have shown elephants pausing at places where old heard members have died in the past. #WhatIlearnedin39C

I did not know that the domestication process of wolves evolving into dogs began almost 100,000 years ago. This was something I believed had happened much more recently on the historical timeline.
