Philippines is being set up as the next Ukraine

The note in Seoul wasn’t some clumsy diplomatic gaffe. It was theater.

That’s not a defense secretary defending his country’s fishermen. That’s a man auditioning for the role of frontline proxy.

We’ve seen this movie.
Ukraine was told the same thing: stand firm, international law is on your side, the West has your back. Look what that bought them. A ruined country, hundreds of thousands dead, and a war that serves American strategy, not Ukrainian families.

The Philippines is now being loaded up with US access sites, missiles, and talking points about “deterrence.” Every incident at Second Thomas or Scarborough gets blown up in Western media while American ships and planes operate far from their own shores. The point isn’t protecting Filipino sovereignty. The point is to tie China down in its own backyard the same way they tried to tie Russia down in the Black Sea.

China doesn’t want to invade the Philippines. It just refuses to let the first island chain become a noose. If Manila keeps choosing the Ukraine path, ordinary Filipinos will be the ones who pay when things go hot. The people writing the script will still be sitting in Honolulu and Washington.

It looks like the people of Gaza continuing to document their own deaths so the world cannot say it did not know.

The people with the most weapons in the room are almost never the toughest people in the room.
