@samhaselby@alexjordanATL Iranian opposition figures have bigger fish to fry than passing the purity tests of leftist intellectuals. Based on field interviews I have done with women in Iran, she is well regarded for her tireless effort towards spotlighting their situation. And they're the ones who matter.
@samhaselby@alexjordanATL Obviously. And like many other Iranians, it amuses me endlessly how Western progressives like you get so heated about the families of regime goons facing (possibly unfair) repercussions, while you're otherwise largely silent about our plight.
@samhaselby@alexjordanATL The "worst parts" of the regime include mass executions and taking women off the streets and raping them on black sites, so they don't die as virgins. I know you don't like "neocons", but tone it down with the false equivalences and have some respect. White boy.
@mahpishooni23 A segment of 2nd generation Iranians lose touch with the civil society of their homeland and get absorbed into a general blob of Middle Eastern diaspora, who they start mirroring.
@volgrim@IranWonk you literally have a pinned post commemorating Larijani bro π arzeshi analysts should accept that the legitimacy of their regime is in tatters and only upheld via crimes against humanity
@dnagosjoon For real. The funniest thing is that anti-war Iranians in Iran sound nothing like them π They simply don't care about voices in Iran, that's the sad truth. They think they know better.
@SharOBalaa I think there is unlikely to be a way for them to spin 60% support for "Dea*h to leftists" to a positive. What they will do is either ignore or discredit the validity of the methodology - so the rest of the results are also deemed questionable.
@dnagosjoon It was actually Reza Shah who banned hijab for 5 years until he was deposed. The hijab ban never made a return when Mohammad Reza ascended to power.
@DennisN Also, I've noticed the Instagram algorithm is diabolical. It keeps showing the opposite of what it knows is your position to outrage you. I keep getting arzeshi posts - really made me rethink using that platform π
@DennisN A Ukrainian gave me this advice about running into people who fall for Russian propaganda: Don't engage, don't debate. Just smile, nod and cut them off. You will exhaust yourself otherwise. It has helped me since the start of the war.
@Persian_kitten1 Dear, don't look at those things and block these people. It's not good for mental health and makes you more angry. These types of people can't be fixed
@SanamVakil Sanam jan, did the JCPOA crew in any shape or form rethink their approach to "help the Iranian people" after reformism died 10 years ago? No. They double and triple down on the same old ideas. Please mock them too.
